V2O5-Activated Graphite Felt with Enhanced Activity for Vanadium Redox Flow Battery

In this study, a simple and environment-friendly method of preparing activated graphite felt (GF) for vanadium redox flow battery (VRFB) by depositing the precursor on GF surface calcining oxide was explored. The intermediate material, VO2, generated carbon oxidation during calcination. contrast to normal etching method, without pickling process. On GF, multiple pores increased roughness were noted after calcination temperature area reached 350 °C 400 17.11 m2/g, respectively. Additionally, polarization decreased with resistance charge transfer at 0.27 Ω. After single-cell test current density 150 mA/cm2 performed, capacity utilization retention 50 cycles 70% 84%, These results indicated potential use as an VRFB electrode.
